In line with its business strategy, Global Cosmed Group aims to establish a strong position of its cleansing cosmetic products – Apart and Bobini – on the German market. Hence, the company’s management decided to expand the production portfolio at the Stadtilm plant to include this category. This will also allow us to expand our offer of supplying cosmetic products manufactured under customers’ private labels.
‘We end 2023 with a positive audit confirming our ability to produce liquid soaps, shower gels or shampoos of the highest quality in our yet another factory. It’s the final touch in the Group’s production optimisation process of this year. After the expansion, the modernisation of the machinery, the relaunch of our brands: Bobini, Kret, Apart, Sofin and the optimisation of our management structures is another successful process resulting from the company’s long-term strategy. Congratulations to the entire team – the combined strength, experience, commitment of employees from Poland and Germany brings sensational results, and this is a huge reason to be proud’, commented Magdalena Miele, CEO of Global Cosmed S.A.
Referred to as the gold standard for the production, control, storage and shipping of cosmetic products, the ISO 22716 – Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard is developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation for the cosmetics industry. An audit carried out by TÜV SÜD confirmed compliance with the objectives of the standard, which is the international basis for quality and safety in the supply chain of cosmetic products. It controls and reduces risks associated with cosmetic products and promotes continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. It increases customers’ trust in the brand and strengthens the company’s position in the cosmetics market.
‘The Stadtilm plant is already certified with IFS HPC and ISO 9001 for the production of household chemicals. However, the production of cosmetics is governed by its own rules and is more restrictive. Consequently, a positive compliance audit for GMP required us to adapt our infrastructure to the requirements of the standard, train our staff, adapt and prepare procedures and instructions related to good manufacturing practice. The internal auditors will ensure that the requirements of the standard are maintained on a daily basis, as will each of the employees, for whom this is an opportunity for development and job stability with new cosmetics contracts’, added Magdalena Miele, CEO.
The expansion of the portfolio at the German plant is linked to the allocation of production lines as well as elements of organisational and logistical optimisation, and closer cooperation between the Teams from both countries.
